I want to give you a picture (get it?!) of what you can expect from me to make your decision easier. Here are some things that you should know about what to expect when you become a Captured In A Flash Client.

First things first!

I am just going to put this out there right now; there are A LOT of photographers in the world! There are photographers who specialize in weddings, those that specialize in birth stories or newborn photos, those that specialize in maternity, those that specialize in scenery, those that specialize in events, those that specialize in wildlife; the list can literally go on for pages and pages. Then there are photographers who are silly, or those who are serious, those who are emotional, and those you cannot read at all. Choosing your photographer should not be a daunting task. It should be fun, exciting and you should always feel comfortable.

Getting to know the lady behind the lens!

I’m Nancy Tait and I am the Owner of Captured In A Flash Photography. I have been taking photos professionally since 2011. I take pride in my work and love new challenges and experiences. Being based in Grand Junction, Colorado offers some amazing opportunities close to home; but I will travel wherever the lens will take me. I have taken senior portraits, family photos, engagement photos and (my personal favorite!) wedding day photos! I enjoy working with people and families from all walks of life and I love capturing special moments that you can remember for a lifetime.

What I love about weddings!

First, I love LOVE! It is one of my most favorite things in the world and I have given and received much love over the years. From my husband, my children, my family, friends, and my clients. I have discovered over the years that there is ALWAYS more love to give. It does not end or run out, there is always more to give and receive.

Capturing all the different parts of a wedding day is magical because often there are many parts working at the same time. The couples are getting ready, there are often moments between a bride and her parents or a groom and his best man that are not shared with everyone else. Capturing the first look is always beautiful, and often filled with happy tears. Seeing an elderly relative laugh or a small child dance are just icing on top of that beautiful three-tiered cake. I want to capture all the special moments and will do my best for you, capturing special interactions as they happen.

I love God!

We do not often talk about religion or our beliefs, but God has driven me, my family, and my business in the direction that it has taken. I pray often and I have faith in his word. We love experiencing weddings where God is present and capturing special and meaningful bible verses for the couple. Watching couples or families pray together before the ceremony and watching how God works in others’ lives is just a special perk of this job.

I am available!

Catching up with my clients, whether in person for a cup of coffee or over the phone is one of my favorite things to do (other than taking photos of course)! I prefer to meet with all clients before ever taking a deposit or booking. It is so important to me that you are comfortable and happy with me before I ever pull my camera out of the bag. Contact with you is a must prior to your session, whether a family session or wedding. I will give you a reasonable timeline of when to expect your edited photos so you are not wondering when you will be getting them.

I love to laugh!

If you are looking for a serious, no-nonsense photographer then I am not your gal. I love to laugh with my clients. It makes us all feel more comfortable when we are friends instead of simply business associates. When we can laugh together, we create more organic photos instead of posed and tense shots that don’t seem natural. I feel like this is extremely important for men, more so than women. You can often find girls taking selfies and posing, especially when they are all dolled up; but men don’t typically do this so it takes a little extra effort for them to feel comfortable in front of a camera. It’s very important for me to meet with the couple instead of just one or the other prior to booking so we can all loosen up before the shoot.

I will give it to you straight!

Since beginning in 2011, I have learned so much about what works and what does not. When you become a Captured In A Flash Client I will guide you through our photoshoot(s) to get the best shots of you. Working with light, best features, knowing how to stand and pose, and all the tiny details to capture you perfectly for you to enjoy for years to come.

I am honest!

I will never take on a shoot that I do not think is in my wheelhouse, although I have not come across one so far! It is important for me to tell you if I do not think a location or time or certain pose will work, but I am willing to try anything if it is something you genuinely want. Capturing those memories that you have been waiting for and dreaming about is my top priority and I will always do my best to exceed your expectations.
