Matthew has played a role in Captured In A Flash since 2013. He is my second shooter for big events, and he is my son! Working together has been a blessing because we can really get to know each other and each other’s styles. He is outgoing and adventurous and takes extra risks where I may not always.
Second Shooter
It is invaluable for a photographer to have a second shooter that they trust. Matthew and I work together on weddings, styled shoots, and much more. It is recommended to have a second shooter for big events, like weddings, because together we can capture more of the day. When the photos come together at the end of the day, we are able to produce a more complete story from the day’s events. Typically, one of us will focus on the couple and all the little details of the day, and the other can focus on the guests and the special moments between the families.
Matthew is a bit of an overachiever which carries over to his photographic eye. He graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a degree in Ecology, Evolution and Organismal Biology with a concentration in Botany; as well as a degree in Wildland Fire Management. He has an eye for details and can find beauty in everything.
Matthew enjoys shooting landscapes and detailed stills and capturing beauty where others may overlook. He enjoys a challenge and is always down for an adventurous undertaking. He is down-to-earth and easy to talk to and get along with.
