As Thanksgiving is over and 2020 is nearing its end, it is a great time to reflect on what I am thankful for. 2020 has been a difficult year for everyone. With so much uncertainty and unknowns, it is sometimes hard to find positivity and have a good outlook. I would like to take a little time to tell you what I am thankful for this year and what I am looking forward to for the year to come.
Family and Friends
I am always and will always be thankful for those in my life that I can call family and friends. It is great to have a support person in your life, whether it be your significant other, a sibling, a parent, or a friend. At times, this year it has not been possible to catch up over lunch or grab a coffee, but knowing I have a wonderful support system on my side helps me get through the tough times.
Health
What a year to talk about health! I feel fortunate to be healthy and happy and continue working this year when so many have not been able to. It is not something to take for granted and I consider myself lucky to have it.
Work
Many of my weddings were canceled this year. And you know what, that is a bummer! But it is not just a bummer for me, I feel sad for all the couples who had to change their plans; whether rescheduling or canceling all together. It is heartbreaking to know there are couples who have lost deposits, lost their special dates, and lost precious time with their family and friends.
My Hopes
My hopes for 2021 are that small businesses are again prosperous. That weddings will be scheduled, and holidays will be filled with loved ones. I hope that schools will stay open and elderly people can once again have visitors. I wish that 2021 will be what all of us wished for 2020 but even better! We all know now that we can make it through a struggle, a crisis, a global pandemic. I hope that we can learn and become better for it in the years to come.
